About Phone Counselling Australia

About Us

Phone Counselling Australia provides confidential, professional phone counselling and system navigation for adults under sustained life pressure, along with clinical supervision for social workers. Services are delivered by phone, Australia-wide, to adults aged 25 and over and are available via self-referral or professional referral. We support people navigating complex responsibilities, caregiving roles, life transitions, moral and faith-based dilemmas, and system interactions — wherever challenges accumulate and there is no simple solution.

Our Team

Our practitioners are qualified social workers with extensive experience supporting adults, families, and professionals navigating sustained pressure, complex responsibility, and high-stakes decision-making. Much of our work sits in spaces where problems do not resolve quickly, systems are difficult to navigate, and people are required to keep functioning while carrying significant emotional, moral, and practical load.

We have extensive experience supporting adults in caregiving and support roles — including those caring for ageing parents or family members living with disability, mental ill-health, addiction, or gambling harm. We understand the cumulative strain of long-term caregiving, boundary fatigue, anticipatory grief, financial stress, and the emotional complexity of loving someone whose needs or behaviours create ongoing uncertainty.

Our experience also includes supporting adults navigating complex government and community systems such as the NDIS, Centrelink, and aged care. We are familiar with the confusion, administrative burden, and emotional toll these systems can place on individuals and families, particularly when people are advocating for themselves or on behalf of someone else under pressure.

Alongside this, we bring expertise in supporting adults navigating complex, responsibility-heavy roles and life decisions. Our approach combines structured guidance, reflective insight, and practical strategies to help people manage work and leadership pressures, financial responsibilities, moral or values-based dilemmas, faith-informed decision-making, and major life transitions. We focus on helping people clarify priorities, build resilience, and make informed choices in situations where solutions are not immediate or simple.

For professionals, our team brings experience in social work practice, ethical decision-making, and reflective supervision. We support social workers across career stages to think critically about complex cases, manage professional risk, sustain boundaries, and maintain effective, values-informed practice over time.

All services adhere to professional social work ethics and Australian privacy law.
